About the Author

Rod Bower was born in 1962 and adopted into a rural family. At the age of twelve his father died; this event changing the course of his young life forever. Coupled with his 'adoptedness' this was a catalyst for not only an outward search for identity, but also an internal pilgrimage.

His journey has taken him from the business world, through theological training, into the Anglican priesthood. While initially a 'career priest', his choice to uncompromisingly exercise his vocation to be a 'forgiving reconciler', led him to fall from favour in his ecclesiastical world.

While this initially devastating event precipitated a time of deep and questioning depression, it also lead him to the beatitudes, where he discovered a place in which he could find healing through attitudes that create a healthy spirituality.

In sharing the reflections on his very personal pilgrimage, he invites the reader to reflect upon their own life's journey in the context of the Sermon on the Mount. He invites you to another place where different attitudes prevail.

Rod and his wife Kerry have two adult children. He is Rector of Gosford on the New South Wales Central Coast.

He rejoices in being a clown.
